One of the birds that, I personally have seen, dig worms out the ground is the American Robin. When we lived in Indiana, there were many Robin available to watch. Down here in central Florida, we very seldom see any. Mostly in the winter, a few Robins migrate through here. They do not stay for the winter, but keep heading further down the state.

Many other birds like worms also, including Bluebirds.
Yet, it seems that Garfield met a very interesting Bluebird that has a problem feeding her little ones:

Today’s Heathcliff – The poor cat, Heathcliff, had his hot dog stolen by a swooping “Hot Dog Hawk.” Not sure if this hawk will ever show up in our Bird Guides.
But if that Hot Dog hawk had tried that with this Red-winged Blackbird, then there would be a battle over the Hot Dog. Maybe this is Heathcliff’s friend coming to the rescue.

She shares the different names for this type of critter from our Lord and the many verses that mention them. Sometimes called Hart, Hind, Fallow-deer, and Roe-buck. Today, just Deer is a more common name for them.

Also, Isaiah 35:1-6 tells us more about the deer leaping to encourage the lame that they will also one day leap for joy.
“The wilderness and the desert will be glad, And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom; Like the crocus It will blossom profusely And rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, The majesty of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, The majesty of our God. Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble. Say to those with anxious heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; The recompense of God will come, But He will save you.” Then the eyes of the blind will be opened And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
