When you go birdwatching, do you get side-tracked by other critters? It is easy to do. Since the Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ created all of them, they are all amazing and enjoyable to examine up close.

So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” (Genesis 1:21-22 NKJV)

In the post, Behemoth – Not The Stuff Of Legends! the introductory signs were shown for Behemoth. Now, here is the information about Leviathan that is also mentioned in the Bible. Job 41.

(1) “Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower? (2) Can you put a reed through his nose, Or pierce his jaw with a hook? (9) Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false; Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of him?” (Job 41:1,2,9) NKJV

(19) “Out of his mouth go burning lights; Sparks of fire shoot out. (20) Smoke goes out of his nostrils, As from a boiling pot and burning rushes. (20) Smoke goes out of his nostrils, As from a boiling pot and burning rushes. (21) His breath kindles coals, And a flame goes out of his mouth. (22) Strength dwells in his neck, And sorrow dances before him. (23) The folds of his flesh are joined together; They are firm on him and cannot be moved. (24) His heart is as hard as stone, Even as hard as the lower millstone. (25) When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; Because of his crashings they are beside themselves. (26) Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail; Nor does spear, dart, or javelin. (27) He regards iron as straw, And bronze as rotten wood. These verses definitely describe some sort of large and strong critter in the sea or a body of water. Sounds like something you wouldn’t want to “tangle” with. Webster’s Definition of Leviathan (1828 ver.) LEVI’ATHAN, n. [Heb.] 1. An aquatic animal, described in Job 41, and mentioned in other passages of Scripture. In Isaiah, it is called the crooked serpent. It is not agreed what animal is intended by the writers, whether the crocodile, the whale, or a species of serpent. 2. The whale, or a great whale. I forgot to put this is the first article: Webster’s Definition of Behemoth (1828 ver.) BE’HEMOTH, n.]Heb. a beast or brute; from an Arabic vert, which signifies, to shut, to lie hid, to be dumb. In Eth.dumb.] Authors are divided in opinion as to the animal intended in scripture by this anme; some supposing it to be an ox, others, an elephant; and Bochart labors to prove it the hippopotamus, or river horse. The latter opinion is most probably. [See Hippopotamus.] The original word in Arabic signifies a brute of beast in general, especially a quadruped. Both of these definitions have left the authors guessing, yet God, the Creator knows exactly what they were.

In the last article, Creation Museum’s Dragon Legends I, you were introduced to the beginning exhibits at the Creation Museum. The Dragon Legends continued with the next display. There they mention the “two real dragon-like creatures” found in God’s Word.

This post mentions the Behemoth mentioned in Job 40:16-24.

Beowulf and the Dragon was a poem about the battle with a huge dragon. Was it a story, or was it based on a battle with some real live large land animal?

Dragon Legends Around the World, Creation Museum

When you first enter the Creation Museum in Kentucky, you are greeted by Dragons. The first display tells about dragons having been on earth during the same time as men and women. Through Dragon Legends.

Evolutionists want you to believe that they died off millions of years ago, but there is too much proof to the contrary. Today I am just sharing this first display with you. You will see more of these dragons in later posts.

The Red Dragon in Wales also provides more legend material.

The last on on that exhibit is the Quetzalcoatl. Wonder if this is where the Quetzal got it’s name? Humm!

This is just one sign display I have shared. I’ll be sharing more later. Yes, there is a real dinosaur skeleton to show you. For now, there was this Dragon hanging from the ceiling near this display.

If you followed the posts while we were on our trip, you are aware that we skipped going to the Cincinnati Zoo because of weather. Home Again After 2,000 Mile Trip

Since we have been there twice already, I decided to see if there were some birds that were not written about from those trips. Actually, there are quite a few. This Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill’s photo caught my attention. It is so hard to get a photo through the cages of the zoos. This Avian Wonder was just as hard to capture. After several tries, the Hornbill came into focus and I still remember my excitement. Patience is hard at times, but it does pay off.

God’s Weaver Birds At Work

“My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle,…” (Job 7:6a KJV)

“Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.” (Exodus 35:35 KJV) [This has to do with the Tabernacle bulders, but the wisdom of heart applies here also.]

A friend shared a video with me of the Weaver Birds on Facebook while we were traveling. I thought I would share some of the fantastic weaving ability given these birds by their Creator.

Who Paints The Leaves?

So far we haven’t seen many birds. My sister-in-law has a pond behind here with Mallards. Also, a Blue Jay has been calling, but has refused to show himself.

The ponds around town, Indianapolis, has lots of Canadian Geese hanging out. The one batch/flock had about 20 or so, and they were all faced south. Maybe they were getting aligned so they could get started South for the winter. Yet, up here it is still summer weather. Maybe they aren’t sure when to leave. Also, the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon is going to come through tomorrow. The rain chance is 100% and flood warnings are being issued starting tomorrow. Welcome to Indiana.

Dan’s 60th High School reunion starts today and will be having gatherings for the next two days. We plan to leave here Sunday afternoon to go to Cincinnati area. Plans, depending on all this rain, we hope to go to the Cincinnati Zoo and then the Creation Museum. Then mosey home.

So far, praise the Lord, I have been handling this trip. My recent back surgery is still causing pain, but doing okay so far.

Unfortunately, my relative has NO INTERNET!!! :( So here I sit at McDonalds. Yeah, for free internets! That is why the posts are intermitten. Trust to post photos from the Zoo later. Hope they won’t have raindrops dripping off of them. :)

Migration Is Starting And The Birds Are Heading Out

Common Cranes in Israel. Many species of crane gather in large groups during migration and on their wintering grounds

“Even the stork in the sky Knows her seasons; And the turtledove and the swift and the thrush Observe the time of their migration; But My people do not know The ordinance of the LORD.” (Jeremiah 8:7 NASB)

This time of the year, the birds start gathering together to migrate, or move, to their winter place. The birds in Australia, begin flying north to their summer place. But they like to fly in groups. This helps keep them secure and going in the right direction. The cartoon below is cute, but God has built into birds a very accurate way to migrate. A few birds become confused in storms and become “lost.” Even then, many of them still arrive at their destinations.

The V-formation helps the birds use less energy. This enables the birds to travel the long distances much easier. There are several articles written that you might want to read:

Woodstock’s Shock Lessons

Woodstock and Flying

For those of you who do not know about Peanuts, the cartoon character, they feature a dog named Snoopy. Snoopy’s friend is a little yellow bird named Woodstock. Snoopy is the only one who understands what Woodstock says.

While I have been recovering from my surgery, my birdwatching has been only reading about the adventures of Woodstock and Snoopy instead of out birdwatching for real. I have kept a few the adventures of them to share with you all.

The top photo was a shock to Woodstock, and you can see this in – Flying is at least safer for Woodstock

The Lord knows that we fail sometimes, but He gives us many 2nd chances.

Sorry for the Long Delay

There hasn’t been a blog posted here since Aug 5th. The last few articles were scheduled ahead of time as I had back surgery on Aug 3rd. My overnight stay in the hospital turned out to be 5 days in the hospital. I had side affects like fluid build up in the sac by the lung. Could hardly breathe and that had to drained. And other side issues. Got out on Tuesday, and ended up in the Emergency Room the next day for another side-affect.

“Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.” (Psalms 40:11 KJV)

But all is not lost. Dr. James J. S. Johnson [Dr. Jim, to me] has kept the main blog active with some very interesting articles. So, if you are not a follower of Lee’s Birdwatching Adventures Plus [the main blog], take a look at the last articles that were posted over there. I trust, with the Lord’s continued healing, that things will get back to normal soon.
